Equity Diversity and Inclusion

Our shared moral purpose is to make a difference for all children’s learning experiences and outcomes.

Our shared moral purpose is to make a difference for all children’s learning experiences and outcomes

To do this, it is vital that we reflect the communities we serve. Our decisions will be better because of it – whether it is through programme content or delivery by our facilitators, subject and phase leads, and partners. We are passionate about making schools more inclusive and diverse.

For us, this means that Exchange Teacher Training deliberately pursues equity, actively seeks diversity and promotes inclusion to create a sense of belonging for all trainees. We promote teaching as a profession of choice for all groups in society, and we encourage applications from under-represented and diverse backgrounds to our programmes.

We strive to ensure that every trainee, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstance, can participate fully in training, succeed in their placement settings and go on to create their own inclusive classrooms. To meet the needs of all trainees, reasonable adjustment plans are co-constructed with trainees who declare an individual need, be it permanent or temporary, self-identified or diagnosed in relation to their wellbeing, mental health, special need or disability.
